The rediscovery and presentation of the complete works of the mega-star that disappeared

When Sammy Davis, Jr. lost his battle against throat cancer in May 1990 at the age of 64, he had been working in show business for more than sixty years.

He started out in vaudeville at the age of two in the "Will Mastin Trio”, and his enormous talent, unique performing ability and political efforts in breaking down racial barriers, earned him the status as an artist’s artist, a statesman who befriended presidents, royalty, politicians and fans all over the world and won their respect and affection as The Total Entertainer. The class trip of his lifetime still stands as unparalleled in show business and in popular culture.

He recorded 660 songs in the studio between 1949 and 1989, headlined in three major Broadway plays, toured the world constantly with concerts and starred in 33 movies.

After his death it appeared as if the world's greatest entertainer had never existed and his works were almost unavailable for many years.

This book presents Sammy Davis, Jr’s. complete works and professional achievements for the first time.

Authors are the German actor/ writer Florian J. Kerz and the Norwegian cinema executive Ivar Halstvedt, both longtime dedicated fans and collectors of the works of Sammy Davis, Jr.
